About NSBE

NSBE was founded in 1975 at Purdue University by the “Chicago Six”. The Chicago Six was comprised of John Logan, Edward Coleman, George Smith, Stanley Kirtley, Brian Harris, and Anthony Harris.

Our mission is “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community”.

Today, NSBE is the largest student-run organization with 394 active chapters. NSBE is divided into six regions. Our chapter is a part of Region 4 (Fo’ Solid, Fo’ Life!).
